Located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York City, Columbia is a private Ivy League research university. Its main campus occupies 32 acres of Manhattan and is highlighted by the academic and neoclassical architectural style that is incorporated among its academic buildings and dormitories. Less than half a mile from Central Park, Columbia sits in the heart of the Big Apple and is well connected to the rest of the city via the Columbia University subway station. The University is comprised of three undergraduate schools and 15 highly ranked graduate and professional schools. Columbia’s 8,000 undergraduates establish an expansive foundation for their studies and majors via the Core Curriculum.
