university of the state; the school is the largest in Louisiana with a total enrollment of 30,000 students. Located on the Mississippi River in the southeast portion of the state, just south of downtown Baton Rouge, the sprawling 2,000 acre campus utilizes distinguished architecture emulating that of the Italian Renaissance.

LSU is comprised of 15 colleges and schools, offering students degrees in a number of well-respected programs including the top-ranked Robert S. Reich School of Landscape Architecture and E.J. Ourso College of Business. There are more than 350 student organizations on campus for students to participate in; the cultural epicenter of downtown Baton Rouge is only minutes away for students. Approximately 20% of the student-body is involved with Greek life.

The LSU Tigers compete at the Division I level in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). While the football team garners the most attention, the Tigers men’s and women’s track & field programs are responsible for more than 2/3 of the universities 43 NCAA titles; the men’s baseball team is in the midst of a dynasty-run, amassing 6 NCAA titles since 1991.

Notable alumni and attendees include U.S. Vice President Hubert Humphrey, author and political analyst Donna Brazile, and NBA all-star Shaquille O’Neal.
